Car Puzzler is a casual cartoonish style puzzler mobile game that can be played in standard or AR mode. In this game, you need to move cars from one point to the other one a street map. You do so by cars by dragging them on the road. There is one strict rule, cars can’t overlap paths that were already used by either the same car or other cars.
The game comes with more than 60 levels. I can tell you from my own experience that this game is very challenging. I first thought that I would finish it like in an hour, but oh boy I didn’t have a clue what was waiting for me.
I like this type of game that requires deep thinking. It seems that the developer took the popular maze games and put a spin on it and it works really well.
That being said, as an AR game, it’s not really that exciting. Nothing in the design of the game made it look appealing in AR. I just look more or less like a flat table-top game with some 3D pieces. However, playing it in AR was more fun than the top-down view of the standard game mode, that’s for sure.
I had a few issues with the game, like not having the option to precisely position and scale the game board as I preferred (just tap to place), the “night mode” had a bug where the lines don’t show when you drag the car, and when muting the music also mutes the sound effects, Maybe little complains, but this game isn’t that complex to start with.
One other cool features that this game has is a Level Editor. Users can use the level editor to create their own level and share it with others. Those user-created levels will be then available via the “User Levels” tab.

If you feel that the levels are too easy for you, challenge yourself even more by activating the timer.
This game will definitely keep me busy for quite a few days until I finish the campaign, I’m certain about it. It’s great that you have at least one game like this that trigger your brain wheels.
I did have a chance to play many AR puzzlers that look and play great in AR, like AR Bounce, PuzzlAR, Mazelith, AR Togater, Splitter Critters and many others. So the thing is that Car Puzzler is one of those games that look like it wasn’t built from the ground up for AR. Even then, there are still ways to make the AR scene look more exciting, even in its current board-like design, and in this case, it was flat and unexciting. For example, the game could have used road elevation, so instead of just a flat street, there were hills.
This way, the game would look better and it could even be used to increase difficulty, as the user would need to move around the map to get a good vantage point. Maybe this idea is too complicated for a casual puzzler with its mechanics. Even so, some cool effects like a smoke getting out of a chimney or the car’s exhaust, some birds flying in the sky, some animation of people doing their daily routine. I don’t know, something that will breathe a bit more life to the AR scene itself.
Let’s check out some gameplay.
Although Car Puzzler isn’t exciting as an AR game per se, it’s still a fun and challenging puzzler. If you are looking for some serious brain-teasing mobile puzzler, this one is for you. It’s not a free game, but it definitely worth the price if you ask me. You can plenty of content, it will probably take hours over hours to complete and even then, you have the level editor so you can create your own levels and play other people’s levels.
One last thing, keep in mind that the AR mode requires iPhone 6S or newer or iPad 2017 or newer to work. Have fun.
